The Ditsöwö ú Lodge project was conceived in 2006, following a major flood of the Telire River in Talamanca. This initiative, championed by current owner Danilo Layan, aims to share the rich heritage of Bribri and Cabécar indigenous cultures with those eager to learn about Costa Rica's ancestral traditions and experiences. Our mission is to offer cultural enrichment and sustainable economic growth, all while supporting the biodiversity of this unique region.
At Ditsöwö ú Lodge, we believe in tourism that respects nature and deeply honors local culture. Our approach fosters job creation within indigenous communities, promotes sustainable agricultural practices, and supports social and community self-help groups, as well as education in indigenous knowledge.
